Marié is both a noun (le marié = the groom, les mariés = the newlyweds) and an adjective (il est marié = 'he is married'). The feminine form mariée is used for the bride. Les jeunes mariés ('the newlyweds') is a set phrase. The verb se marier means 'to get married'.
