Usage Note
Enflé is the past participle of enfler used as an adjective. It describes a swollen body part (une cheville enflée, 'a swollen ankle') or, figuratively, a bloated or pompous writing style (un style enflé). In very informal French, un enflé can also be a mild insult meaning a conceited or useless person.
