Accoucher is the standard medical and everyday term for giving birth; the noun form is un accouchement (childbirth, delivery). It can be used intransitively (elle a accouché) or transitively in medical contexts (le médecin l'a accouchée). Informally, accouche! is used to urge someone to 'spit it out' or say what they mean.
