Usage Note
Enflammer is used both literally (to set fire to something) and figuratively (to stir up passion, anger, or enthusiasm). The reflexive s'enflammer means to catch fire or to become impassioned: la foule s'est enflammée ('the crowd became inflamed'). The past participle enflammé is used as an adjective meaning passionate or ardent.
