Usage Note

Rendormir is a reflexive verb used as se rendormir — 'to go back to sleep' after waking. It follows the conjugation of dormir (irregular: je me rendors, il se rendort). The non-reflexive rendormir quelqu'un means to send someone back to sleep, which is rare but grammatically correct.
