Usage Note
Parallèle as an adjective is invariable for gender in form (both un marché parallèle and une ligne parallèle). As a noun it is masculine (un parallèle) when meaning a comparison or line of latitude, and feminine (une parallèle) in strict geometry for a parallel line. En parallèle means 'simultaneously' or 'in parallel'.
