Lécher means to lick, and also appears in lécher les vitrines ('to window-shop', literally 'to lick the shop windows'). The informal expression se lécher les doigts ('to lick one's fingers') signals that food is delicious. Léché as an adjective describes overly polished or fussy work — un travail trop léché.
