Usage Note
Jante refers specifically to the rim of a wheel — the metal hoop onto which the tyre fits. Jantes en alliage ('alloy wheels') is a common phrase in car advertising. Do not confuse it with roue (the whole wheel). Jante is feminine: une belle jante.
