Usage Note
Fric is a very informal, slangy word for money, equivalent to English 'dough' or 'cash.' It is used in colloquial spoken French but would be out of place in writing or formal situations. The more neutral terms are argent (money) or sous (a slightly old-fashioned informal term).
Examples
"Il n'a pas assez de fric pour sortir."
Natural Translation
He doesn't have enough money to go out.
Literal Translation
He not-have enough of money for to-go-out
