Usage Note
Flic is a firmly colloquial, often pejorative word for a police officer, equivalent to 'cop' or 'pig' in English slang. It is common in informal speech and film dialogue but would be considered rude in formal contexts. The plural les flics is also used to refer to the police force collectively.
Examples
"Les flics ont arrêté le voleur."
Natural Translation
