Usage Note

confiant describes a person who trusts others or feels self-assured; confiant en soi means 'self-confident'. The feminine form is confiante. Do not confuse it with confidentiel ('confidential') — they share a root but mean very different things. The related noun is confiance ('trust, confidence').
