Chiffonné literally describes fabric or paper that has been crumpled or creased, but applied to a person's face it means drawn, tired-looking, or slightly dishevelled — a common and affectionate usage. The verb chiffonner can also mean to bother or annoy someone (ça me chiffonne = 'it bugs me'). The feminine form is chiffonnée.
