Barreau (plural barreaux) refers to the bars of a prison cell, cage, or window grill, and also — capitalized — to the legal Bar (le Barreau), the professional body of lawyers. Être admis au Barreau means 'to be called to the Bar'. The plural barreaux follows the standard -eau → -eaux pattern.
