Usage Note
Anémie refers to the medical condition of insufficient red blood cells or haemoglobin, causing fatigue and pallor. The adjective anémique is also used figuratively to describe something weak or lacking vitality, such as une croissance anémique (anaemic growth). An iron deficiency is the most common cause, known as anémie ferriprive.
