Yoga is a direct borrowing from Sanskrit via English and is masculine in French. Common phrases include faire du yoga (to do yoga) and un cours de yoga (a yoga class). The practitioner is un/une yogi or un/une yogiste. Yoga has become mainstream in France, and studios called centres de yoga or salles de yoga are common in cities.
