Usage Note
Week-end is an English loanword fully integrated into French with the hyphen kept. The plural is des week-ends. In Belgium and some Quebec usage, la fin de semaine is preferred over week-end. Bon week-end! is a common Friday farewell, equivalent to 'have a good weekend!'
