Usage Note
Sous-titre is hyphenated in French, and its plural is sous-titres. In film and TV, les sous-titres are subtitles, and sous-titré (subtitled) is the adjective. A sous-titre can also be the subtitle of a book or article (the secondary heading). The verb sous-titrer means to subtitle a film or text.
