Usage Note
Rôti is the standard French word for a roast joint of meat; un rôti de porc (pork roast) or un rôti de boeuf (beef roast) are Sunday meal classics. As an adjective, rôti simply means roasted. The circumflex on the ô marks a historical dropped -s- (cf. English 'roast').
Examples
"Maman prépare un rôti de veau le dimanche."
Natural Translation
Mum makes a veal roast on Sundays.
