Réjouir is most common in its reflexive form se réjouir de — to be delighted about something or to look forward to it (je me réjouis de te voir — I'm delighted to see you). As a transitive verb it means to gladden someone. The noun réjouissance means rejoicing or festivity, and réjouissances in the plural often refers to a programme of celebrations.
