Revoir used as a noun appears almost exclusively in the fixed phrase au revoir ('goodbye,' literally 'until we see each other again'). As a verb, revoir means 'to see again' or 'to revise.' The phrase au revoir is one of the first French expressions learners encounter and is appropriate in all registers.
