devastation
Usage Note
Ravage is almost always used in the plural: les ravages (the ravages, the devastation). The singular is rare and literary. The verb ravager (to ravage, to devastate) is common. A vivid fixed phrase is faire des ravages — said of a disease, a storm, or even an irresistibly attractive person.
Examples

Natural Translation
The storm caused devastation in the forest.
