Usage Note
Raser covers both shaving hair (se raser le visage) and demolishing a structure (raser un bâtiment). The reflexive se raser is the everyday term for shaving oneself. Colloquially, raser les murs ('to hug the walls') means to walk timidly or try to go unnoticed.
