Usage Note
Psychopathe is used both clinically and colloquially. In colloquial French it can be hyperbolic — il conduit comme un psychopathe (he drives like a maniac) — much like 'psycho' in casual English. The clinical term for the personality disorder itself is la psychopathie. Both masculine and feminine forms are identical: un/une psychopathe.
Examples
"Le personnage principal est un psychopathe dangereux."
Natural Translation
The main character is a dangerous psychopath.
