Usage Note
Peint is the past participle of peindre ('to paint') used as an adjective. The feminine form is peinte, plural peints/peintes. The phrase un tableau peint à la main ('a hand-painted picture') is a typical use. Do not confuse with teint ('dyed/complexion') which sounds identical.
