Usage Note

Odorat is the formal noun for the sense of smell, one of the five senses alongside ouïe (hearing), vue (sight), goût (taste), and toucher (touch). The final t is silent. The related adjective odorant/odorante means 'fragrant', while inodore means 'odourless'.
