bigleux

noun adjective bee-GLUH Rare

Usage Note

Bigleux is colloquial/familiar and means someone who is cross-eyed or, more loosely, someone with very poor eyesight who squints. The feminine form is bigleuse. It derives from the verb bigler (to squint). Used humorously rather than clinically — the medical term for a squint is strabisme.
