Usage Note

Nuptial is a formal adjective used mainly in set phrases: la chambre nuptiale (bridal chamber), la marche nuptiale (wedding march). The feminine is nuptiale and the plural is nuptiaux. It is rarely used in everyday speech; de mariage is the standard colloquial equivalent.
