Usage Note

Nudité can be used literally (the state of being naked) or in art criticism to mean a nude figure. In French cinema and art, depicting la nudité is considered far less taboo than in Anglo-American culture. The adjective nu/nue (naked, nude) is the related form; nu artistique means 'artistic nude'.
