Usage Note
Neutre describes a position of neutrality (political, emotional, or grammatical). In grammar, le genre neutre is the neuter gender, which does not exist in French but does in German and Latin. Rester neutre ('to remain neutral') is a common phrase. The noun neutralité is closely related.
