Usage Note

Majesté is used as a royal title (Sa Majesté, Your Majesty) and to describe grandeur or awe-inspiring scale (la majesté des Alpes). In French protocol, the title is used for kings and queens, while Son Altesse is reserved for princes and princesses. The adjective majestueux means majestic.
