Usage Note
Littéraire describes anything relating to literature: un prix littéraire ('a literary prize'), une carrière littéraire ('a literary career'). In French education, the baccalauréat littéraire (now bac général) was the humanities-track diploma. The noun littérature and the agent noun littérateur share the same root.
