Joindre means to reach or contact someone (je n'arrive pas à vous joindre — 'I can't get hold of you') and to join or attach something. Joindre les deux bouts is an idiom meaning 'to make ends meet'. It is conjugated irregularly like craindre: present je joins, il joint, nous joignons.
