Usage Note

Intrigant as an adjective means plotting or scheming, describing someone who uses underhand manoeuvres to get ahead. As a noun un intrigant is a schemer or intriguer. Note that it does NOT mean 'intriguing' in the English sense of 'fascinating' — that would be fascinant or intéressant. The feminine form is intrigante.
