Usage Note

Horrible is used both literally (something causing horror) and as an intensified colloquial expression of displeasure — un temps horrible ('horrible weather'), une journée horrible ('a terrible day'). It is invariable in gender for its ending but takes -s in the plural. The adverb horriblement means 'horribly' or 'terribly'.
