Usage Note

Enthousiasme is masculine — un enthousiasme débordant (overflowing enthusiasm). The verb s'enthousiasmer pour means 'to get enthusiastic about something'. The adjective enthousiaste is the same for both genders, and enthousiasmer can also be used transitively: cela m'enthousiasme ('that excites me').
