Usage Note
Embarquement is the standard airport and port term for boarding a plane, ship, or train: porte d'embarquement (boarding gate), carte d'embarquement (boarding pass). The verb is embarquer and its opposite is débarquement (disembarkation). In figurative speech, embarquement immédiat ('immediate boarding') humorously describes being dragged into something straight away.
