Usage Note

Conjugal describes matters belonging to the married couple — le domicile conjugal (the marital home), la vie conjugale (married life). Learners should not confuse it with conjuguer (to conjugate a verb), despite sharing a Latin root (conjugare = to join). The plural masculine form is conjugaux.
