Usage Note

Chiotte is a crude, vulgar word for toilet — the plural chiottes is more common when referring to an actual bathroom. It is also used as an expletive (chiottes!) expressing frustration. Use toilettes or WC in polite company; chiotte is strictly informal or emphatic.
