Also means
cent
Usage Note
Centime is one hundredth of a euro (or formerly of a franc). The phrase ça ne vaut pas un centime ('it is not worth a cent') expresses worthlessness. N'avoir pas un centime means 'to be penniless'. With the euro, the official EU term is cent, but centime remains the word most French speakers use in everyday speech.
Examples
"Il me manque dix centimes pour le bus."
Natural Translation
I am ten centimes short for the bus.
