Usage Note

Cadet refers to the younger of two siblings or the youngest in a group. The feminine form is cadette. In a sports context, les cadets is an official age category (roughly 15–17-year-olds). The phrase c'est le cadet de mes soucis idiomatically means 'that's the least of my worries'.
