Bouder describes the act of sulking or pouting, typically in silence to show displeasure. Bouder quelqu'un means 'to give someone the silent treatment'. The noun bouderie ('sulkiness') and boudeur/boudeuse ('sulky person') are derived forms. In informal usage, bouder quelque chose can mean to deliberately avoid or boycott something: bouder un événement.
