Usage Note

Bâcler implies doing work hastily and poorly, leaving it unfinished or sloppy. It is informal but widely used: un travail bâclé ('a shoddy piece of work'). The past participle bâclé is very common as an adjective. A near-synonym is torcher in the same informal register, or more formally expédier.
