Arthrite refers specifically to joint inflammation, while arthrose (f) is the separate French term for osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) — learners often confuse the two. Arthrite rhumatoïde is rheumatoid arthritis. The condition is treated with anti-inflammatoires and, in severe cases, corticoïdes.
