Usage Note
Anévrisme (also spelled anévrysme) is the medical term for a localised bulge in a blood-vessel wall. The most serious form is an anévrisme de l'aorte or a brain aneurysm (anévrisme cérébral). In colloquial French, faire un anévrisme is used hyperbolically to mean 'to have a fit' or 'to be furious'.
