Usage Note
Affairer is almost always used reflexively as s'affairer — meaning to bustle about or be busily occupied. The non-reflexive form is very rare. A related adjective affairé means 'busy' or 'rushed' and is common in descriptions of people: il avait l'air très affairé.
Examples
"Elle s'affaire dans la cuisine depuis ce matin."
Natural Translation
She has been bustling about in the kitchen since this morning.
