Usage Note
Électrogène is almost always paired with groupe to form groupe électrogène, the standard French term for a generator set or genset. The adjective alone is rare outside technical contexts. It derives from électro- (electric) + -gène (producing).
Examples
"Ils ont loué un groupe électrogène pour le chantier."
Natural Translation
They rented a generator for the construction site.
