Usage Note
Égyptien can function as both an adjective and a noun (un Égyptien, 'an Egyptian person'). As a noun referring to a person, the capitalised form is used. The feminine form is égyptienne. In typography, égyptienne also names a slab-serif typeface style popular since the 19th century.
