Usage Note
Éventualité refers to a possible but uncertain future situation — parer à toute éventualité ('to prepare for every eventuality') is a very common set phrase. It is more formal than possibilité and implies a scenario that may or may not come to pass. The adjective éventuel ('possible, potential') is its frequent companion.
Examples
"Il faut prévoir toute éventualité."
