Tribune can be a raised speaking platform, the gallery of a stadium, or an opinion column in a newspaper — une tribune libre is an op-ed. In architecture, a tribune is a gallery or raised section of a church. The English cognate 'tribune' (a Roman magistrate) is a different historical use not shared by modern French.
