Usage Note

Trésor means a treasure hoard or something precious, and is also used as a term of endearment (mon trésor = 'my treasure'). Le Trésor public is the French public treasury (government financial administration). Trouver un trésor (to find a treasure) and chasse au trésor (treasure hunt) are common collocations.
